Adults
Never learned as a kid? Want to commute or join a friend on a Citi Bike ride? You're in good company — we teach adults all the time.
- Zero judgment — really. We've heard every reason.
- Method that works: balance first, pedaling second
- Quiet, low-traffic spots — no embarrassment
- Pace varies per rider — we go at yours, no pressure
Our Method
Balance before pedals.
Counter-intuitive, but it works. Pedals are the easy part — getting comfortable on two wheels is what hangs people up.
Push & balance
First we have you walk the bike, then push off and glide with feet up — no pedaling yet. Just getting your body used to balancing on two wheels.
Pedaling, with backup
Once balance clicks, you start pedaling — and we run alongside, hand on the seat, so you can't fall while you're learning.
On your own
When you're ready, we let go. By then it's just riding — and you tell us when you feel solo-ready.
