How It Started
A neighborhood that needed a real bike shop.
Sheepshead Bay was short on bike shops — plenty of riders, plenty of beach-bound paths, but not enough places to actually get a bike fixed. So in 2020 we opened the doors on Emmons Ave with a simple promise: tell people the truth about their bikes, charge fair prices, and turn jobs around fast.
That's still the whole playbook. We don't upsell tune-ups people don't need. We don't quote a $200 fix when $40 will do. And we don't keep your bike for a week when it's a 30-minute job.
Five years in, we've earned 200+ five-star Google reviews from neighbors, commuters, weekend warriors, and a lot of kids learning to ride. We're proud of that, and we work hard to keep earning it.
What We Stand For
Four rules we don't break.
Honest diagnoses
If your bike just needs air, we tell you it just needs air. We're not here to invent problems.
Fast turnaround
Most repairs back to you in 1-2 days. Bikes are transportation — we don't keep yours longer than we need to. Need a different schedule? Just ask.
Fair, clear pricing
Posted prices on the website. Free quote before any work. No surprise additions on the invoice.
Local accountability
We see you on the boardwalk. We can't hide behind a chain logo. That keeps us honest.
Our Online Arm
Meet MachX Cycles.
Customers kept asking us to sell pre-owned bikes online. So we built it. MachX Cycles is Brooklyn Bikery's online pre-owned bike shop — every bike is sourced, inspected, and tuned right here on the shop floor by the same mechanics who service the neighborhood. Then it ships nationwide.
Same standards, same hands, just with a bigger map.
